The Pulp Racing Hall of Heroes
A Salute to the people who helped us with the OTC

The Pulp Racing Team had help from many Super Heroes

I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be Heroes, just for one day

(lyrics from "Heroes", by David Bowie)

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone that helped us with the OTC effort.  It was a super human effort, with lots of help from many different people with many different skills and personalities.  Let's go to the main cast of characters to begin with.

Both these guys hang out with strange, wacky people

My life has been described as a Seinfeld episode.  So let's make the comparisons.

Both these guys have unusual opinions and unusual habits.
But the show could not go on without them.

Many thanks to Wayne.  Otherwise, I would not have anyone to race with, and crush at the track.  Of course he says that all the stories are written from my point of view, which he claims is filled with lies, and he feels like he really kicks my ass all the time.  I tell him to get his own damn website!

Guess what the similarities are between these characters!

Thanks to Larry for super human effort in getting us to 4th overall at the OTC!  He almost died from heat exhaustion, sleep exhaustion, and starvation during the 7 day track event.

Both these guys are business men, and are a little weird!

Many thanks to Reuben for helping out Larry with the car.  And driving the big rig.  And driving the RV.  And keeping Larry in line!  And getting no sleep at all at the OTC!

Both these guys are uh.....in a class by themselves

Many thanks to Erik for getting the suspension working and also co-driving.  And driving the big rig. And driving the RV.  And not going insane since he was with us for the 10 day OTC trip.  And proving that a person can function on 8 hours sleep.  Over four days. (yes, two hours a night average).  Without getting grumpy.

Both these females have to deal with situations that borderline on the absurd

Many thanks to Dagmar for helping us out on the trip as team photographer, navigator, cook, and, uh..... sponsor.  She survived sleep deprivation, heatstroke, boredom, and 10 days with a bunch of sweaty, greasy, smack-talking lunatics.  In return for her efforts, she has threatened to organize the OMC (Outlet Mall Challenge - 7 Outlet Malls in 7 Days) for the significant others of OTC attendees.  Husbands of women who attended the OTC will be required come along to carry shopping bags all day and spend evenings doing nothing but listening to the women discuss what they bought.

Both these guys think they are dealing with rational people.  Boy are they ever wrong!

A big thanks to John Coffey for helping out with my car while it was being worked on at Erik's shop prior to the OTC.  He spent many late hours there!

Both these guys are low key mechanical types.  And Kinda Strange!  And hang out with weird people

Thanks to Brian Lampe for also helping out with my car at Erik's shop prior to the race.  Otherwise, it would have never been ready for the OTC!

Both these guys don't like variations to their recipes!  "No Go-Fast for You!"

Thanks to Shad at Comptech for helping us out with parts/advice at the prior to the OTC and during the event!

Both these guys got horribly abused by the main characters!

Many thanks to Florin for letting us borrow his window hatch.  And his injectors.  And spark plugs.  And coils.  And lug nuts.  At each event.

Thanks also to the following people:

Alex Chu - ACR Motorsports - for the street/race Exedy clutch that we used at the 7 day event

Mark V. - Brembo - helping Erik out with rotor/hat/pad configuration for the Flamemobile

Kinesis Wheels - machining and getting us the Kinesis wheels in time for the event

Chris Wilson - Science of Speed - getting us the rear diffuser in time

Comptech USA - helping out with parts, and sponsoring $1000 1st place for highest scoring Honda/Acura, $500  2nd place for next  highest scoring Honda/Acura, and $250 for next highest scoring Honda/Acura at the OTC. (Flamemobile excluded from these prizes.  After all, that wouldn't be fair, would it?  <grin>)
