FAX TO BOB AND SHAD FROM DOUG HAYASHI

SCENARIO:

Today is 3 weeks until the Virginia City Hill Climb (June 17/18). Last year, I came in 10th place. I want to make it to the top 5 places. I need as much power as possible.

Late April. Ordered 9 lb Comptech supercharger pulley. Mid May, pulley comes in. Larry installs 9 lb pulley. Pulley is installed. May 26th, car is taken to Willow Springs for Touring Car Club Race, and final testing before the Hill Climb with new pulley. However, new pulley only registers 6 lbs on the boost gauge, which is 3 lbs less than 9 lbs by my calculations. May 27th, early morning. Go back to shop, and get OLD pulley. Return to Willow Springs that afternoon. Larry installs old pulley. Old pulley seems to pull 7 lbs at full boost. Wayne Mello, in a 944 Turbo, wins the qual race, with me coming in 2nd place. We check pulleys on my car. The NEW pulley is BIGGER than the old pulley. Which I think means that someone sent me the wrong pulley, they mistakenly sent me the "GO SLOW" pulley, not the "GO FAST" Pulley.

We have 14 Days until we have to pack the trailer to go to Virginia City. However, we need to test with the 9 lb pulley and get the car dialed in. Wayne has beaten me at Virginia City the past 4 years. (true, he crashed his car into the hill last year, but that was after becoming the sixth fastest driver up the hill the past 15 years at the June Hill Climb. Unfortunately, I was 11th fastest ever).

Which means that I desperately need a 9 lb pulley Fedexed to Larry Garcia's NSX Modified SHOP ASAP, so we can install it, put it on the dyno, and measure HP with various exhaust. I will NOT let Wayne beat me five times in a row at the Hill Climb. But I need you guys to help me out with the correct pulley. Can you send me one ASAP to Larry's shop at 17222 Gothard #E, Huntington Beach, CA, 92647?

Thanks, Doug "Need 9 lbs" Hayashi
